Centre Relieves Travel Restrictions For Defined Categories Of Foreigners
As Indian government initiated allowing of people of two groups to enter India either they have OCI cardholder or they are Indian nationals . And for students to come to India, there should be at least one parent be indian or OCI cardholder.
New Delhi:The government has stated to allow on Friday selected categories of foreigners including Overseas citizen of India (OCI) cardholders to enter India.
A senior ministry official also said PTI that , MHA has allowed selected categories of foreigners, including OCI cardholders and students who hold OCI cards and whose parents are Indian nationals.
As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered on March 24 to restrict foreigners to visit India due to the pandemic which the whole world is facing globally.This was the great move by the Prime Minister.
Indian government is also allowing those family members of foreign diplomats and official and service staff who have authorised to foreign diplomatic missions etc to come to India.
As if there is emergency in family of OCI cardholders such as serious medical issues or death. In these cases, they can come to India.
Although, foreign nationals have to procure a fresh visa of suitable category from the Indian Missions and posts overseas.
Those foreign nationals who holds a valid long term multiple entry visa of suitable category which has been issued by the Indian missions and posts overseas will have to get the visa re-validated from the Indian Mission and post concerned.
Alike those foreign nationals will not get permission to travel to India on the solidity of any electronic visa obtained prior.
As the restrictions imply by the MHA on would not apply in the above mentioned foreign nationals.
On 25th March 2020, nationwide lockdown was announced and all International arrivals to India was banned.
The government has started special operation named "Vande Bharat Mission" on 7th May 2020 to evacuate stucked indians around the world by the means of air and sea.
As per MHA term "Ulock 1", there are large numbers of social , economic, religious and various sports activities are allowed from 30 th June 2020. Now only , the redzone area is strictly followed lockdown at some extent accross the country.
